What equates to happiness is solving a problem and the feeling of pride, accomplishment, and also a bit of relief and peace that follows. While I was working on redoing some of the electrical with my dad in the new house, I was wondering how Edison felt after he invented electricity. Such an important part of our lives that we take for granted. He solved a problem that redesigned the way people live.

I am not saying I want to rewrite history books here. But I want to ride this wave of change that has already commenced in a new world that is now so connected and so much closer together. We can immediately read about, hear about and see what is happening in all parts of the world. It is a different world we live in now. A world where everything is connected. Everything happens online. So many photos and words and thoughts and actions are recorded and uploaded.

This connected world makes it so much easier to access and help those who need it. The person who lost their house and is fighting off depression. The couple going through rough times. The teen who feels alone. The kid who gets bullied. The parent who is going through the motions. The man who works at a dead end job he isn’t passionate about. The college grad stuck in limbo.

Unhappiness is a problem for everyone, young and old, male and female, all over the world. And that is a problem I want to solve.
